Eileen Fisher? and Akira? Among Featured Designers for the Thyck Troupe Organization's 'The Abstract of ThYck' in Chicago, IL

Hosted by Grossinger City Autoplex, two non-profit organizations - the ThYck Troupe? and I Am You, Inc. - are partnering to present "The Abstract of ThYck", a fashion and live music exhibition.

"The Abstract of ThYck" will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012, beginning at 6:00pm with a red carpet reception, and a 7:00pm show time. Grossinger City Autoplex is located at 1530 N. Dayton Ave, Chicago, IL 60642.

Major sponsors of this exhibition include Grossinger, AKIRA, The Pampered Chef, the WNBA's Chicago Sky, Eileen Fisher, Garrett Popcorn Shops, Flirty Girl Fitness and Daily Venus Diva Magazine.

The exhibition's theme, "The Abstract of ThYck" emphasizes originality, boldness and innovation within the performing arts, and features the dynamic repertoire of member artists from the ThYck Troupe Organization - 501(c)3, performing arts company for full-figured women.

Audiences will enjoy fashion showcases from Eileen Fisher, AKIRA, Lane Bryant, GiGi Hill and more, accompanied by live musical performances from Chicago artists Obisoulstar and Las Bompleneras. Guest raffles include Chicago Sky tickets, a Talidis mink jacket, and a 2012 Chevy Sonic, courtesy of Grossinger City Autoplex.

"It is our desire to show the youth of Chicago that art has endless possibilities… and so do they," says Tressa Thomas, Founder & Artistic Director of ThYck Troupe Organization, NFP. "Along with our charity partner - I Am You, Inc. - We share the vision of developing artistic strategies that combat the threats of academic failure, violence, poverty and disenfranchisement in our youth. We seek to educate, energize, encourage and empower, using the arts as our vehicle for change."
